Volvo engineers and designers set to work to create next-generation flagship of Scandinavian manufacturer. As we found out reporters Inside Line have their own sources inside the company, Volvo XC90 will be the next generation of the first car brand to be built on a new platform Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which was also designed to be the successors of S60, V70, XC60 and S80. In the range of engines will include the new Volvo XC90 four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines are a family of VEA (Volvo Environmental Architecture).
According to engineer’s Scandinavian manufacturer, the data are easier, more powerful and more economical than the current 6-cylinder units. Along with the traditional internal combustion engines in the lineup will include a hybrid propulsion unit with a rechargeable battery from the mains.
The world premiere of the new Volvo XC90 will be held in the next two years.
A source at Volvo also told Inside Line that the company is developing a plan to create a new compact "SUV" with the index notation XC30. Management is currently brand looks for a partner for this project. Novelty can replenish portfolio produced Volvo cars in 2015.
