2010 Ford Ranger

Ford Ranger
2010 Ford Ranger Review

The Ford Ranger has built a solid reputation as a rugged workhorse of a compact pickup. Two engines are available, a 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 4.0-liter V6. The 2.3-liter dohc four-cylinder makes 143 horsepower and 154 pound-feet of torque. Most versions have a 6-foot cargo bed, but a 7-foot bed is available on the Regular Cab with two-wheel drive.

Reviewers typically describe the Ford Ranger with words like "dated," "subpar" and "ancient." Where the 2010 Ranger does excel is fuel economy. Four-wheel drive models with the 4.0 liter engine drop even further: 15 mpg city/19 mpg highway and 17 combined with manual transmission, and 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway and 15 combined with an automatic.

In crash testing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2010 Ford Ranger Regular Cab its highest rating (5 out of 5 stars) for frontal and side-impact tests, 4 stars for rear-wheel drive models and 3 stars for four-wheel drive models in rollover testing.

the Ford Ranger gains standard stability control and side airbags for 2010, the first time these features have been offered. Shortly thereafter, the Ford Ranger was introduced." For the 2010 Ford Ranger, there are minor updates once again, but with mixed results. So unless you're the owner of a small business, there's little reason to consider the 2010 Ford Ranger.
