Dodge Ram 1500 2012: Engines and performance

Dodge trucks
Dodge Ram 1500 2012: Engines and performance. The world of SUVs and pickups has always had a great influence in North America, where everything like how bigger the better. But in recent years this fever for SUVs and SUVs has been expanded and manufacturers leverage to get the most out of this situation. A great example is the manufacturer every time Dodge has some larger vehicles. Now comes the new Ram 1500, an impressive pickup has some giant steps, and a large number of improvements over the predecessor version.

The Dodge Ram 1500 is a model that is sweeping the United States but also wants to convince the public of Europe and that is why the manufacturer is starring specials to facilitate the importation of the model, since it is a vehicle I have yet to be manufactured in our territory. Thus, Europeans wanting to enjoy a great truck with off-road capabilities, find their way a little easier.

What at first was to represent a few minor tweaks to improve the previous version of the Dodge Ram, has become an entirely renovated, with great additions and increased capabilities through the progression of the manufacturer. As we indicated from Dodge, is a model made especially for Americans but with qualities sufficient to convince Europe.

Engines and performance
it’s good that there are these vehicles, given their large size can do much, but it must also have a powerful engine. Dodge has focused on getting good performance.

This has been made for the one hand, with a V6 engine Pentastar 3.6 l able to develop a power 309CV. It becomes more efficient V6 engine, achieving three seconds reducing the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km / h over the previous model.

But he has also used a new 5.7 l HEMI V8 engine with an output of 400hp, showing similar performance to the new Ford F-150. Also prominent in this case it’s better performance and improved efficiency.

Whichever engine you choose, we always have an automatic transmission to ensure the highest mechanical assembly operation at all times.

The Dodge Ram 1500 is the smaller version of the Ram range, though still far exceeds the size of any European or Asian pickup. He meets a large number of competitors like the Toyota Hilux 2012, showing a more aggressive approach. But there is none that has as high a performance at a price so affordable. In the U.S. the price of the Ram 1500 is around $ 21,000, in case you want to buy one, the price would not reach 30,000 euros, including imports from North America.

Nissan Navara: extending the range and new prices

Nissan Navara
Nissan Navara
Nissan Navara: extending the range and new prices. The concept of "Pick-up", so prevalent in America, is slowly making its way in Europe and does the hand of the Nissan Navara, one of the pioneers in this segment on the continent. The Japanese company has decided to step in its commitment to a major expansion of range to arrive in dealerships this July, an extension of the bottom that will allow potential customers to get one of these models for a price very tight. A determined attempt to reach imposed on purchases of companies and freelancers who need a car of this kind.

In these new versions of the Nissan Navara has worked in different aspects, without taking away benefits, could reduce production costs. Aspects between including engine power and interior equipment and result in a much tighter and more competitive. A proposal that from this July we will assess the degree of acceptance that is part of the market and designed to respond to the launch of Tata Xenon pickup.

Technical features of new versions
keeping all the strong points held by the Nissan Navara, the firm has performed Nippon elements to expand its range of vehicles. The most important change we have in the engine, which maintains the common rail turbo diesel engine 2.5 dCi, a power we have in other models like the Toyota Land Cruiser, but that have been reduced from 140 hp to leave. A decrease that leaves a maximum torque of 350 Nm at all four wheels keeping the gearbox, reaching the 168 k / h, with a consumption of 8.2 l/100 km in combined cycle and emissions of 222 g / km.

What will not change is the payload of the Nissan Navara, which stands at around 850 kg in the 2.36 meters of outdoor loading area, a figure that reaches 3,000 kg if we talk about towing capacity. Data that make him a very reliable alternative for companies and freelancers who need a good carrying capacity in a car powerful and able to move with ease and speed. A vehicle will have a double cab version and another called King Cab, but the second did not arrive in showrooms until next year.

New equipment and set price
This expanded range of Nissan Navara will have standard equipment which includes air conditioning, central locking, six airbags, radio CD and load restraint C-Channel. This is comprised of side rails and at the base of the loading area to which phones can sign hooks, ideal for fixing packages and materials that have been loaded.

This equipment and the new 140 hp engine will allow us to find a version of the Nissan Navara below 30,000 euros, a price more competitive than it properly positioned within the market. One option that will certainly enhance the status of Japanese pick-up in the domestic market and can have a good start in times of cost containment as we live.

2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Super Crew

ford f150 raptor
The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Super Crew is the largest, most modern and most eye-grabbing off-road trucks on the road - and receives the latest model trucks this year a handful of updates and upgrades to keep it fresh.

As the line of Ford Raptor Super Crew expanded to include a new group of customers in the design of trucks in bold and unmatched capability off-road and adds the interests of power. For the last model year, Ford has Torsi differential forward, a future outside of the road was proposed camera and recorded a series of changes in the appearance of the truck inside and out.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor  Super Crew Interior
As high-end trucks with relatively few options, should be no surprise that a standard 4.2-inch LCD screen, productivity in the middle of the dashboard indicators, which have a black face, red pointers and light ice blue lighting are integrated.

This screen comes from the recently released, newly designed super-trucks, but the Raptor, the screen offers a unique animation reception and, more importantly, the vehicle status information for important off-road parameters such as off-road mode, Hill Descent Control, electronic differential and drive settings with RSC (Roll Stability Control).
ford f150 raptor

The display also provides information on the steering wheel angle and the angle of the vehicle on a slope during the off-road maneuvers. The menu is navigated through a five-way button on the wheel and is located between the tachometer and speedometer - require a minimum of distraction from the task at hand.

Other interior upgrades include a telescoping steering wheel, a headrest for the middle row seat and second inverter 110 volts on the center console.

All Raptors by a 6.2-liter V8, which is the same in the Harley-Davidson edition. When it was launched in 2010 in the life of the truck driven by a 5.4L V8 and a good performance but could not be of the grossest things F-150 V8. With 411 horsepower and 434 lb-ft of torque, gains power 6.2-liter’s massive 6200 + all pounds (2820 kg) to go with a bellowing roar, look at a Ford Mustang GT shoulder.

Not that the Raptor 2012 is faster, but it seems impossible that a large mastodon is a giant moving so quickly through the city and even better, indomitable in the raw material.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Super Crew, Naturally, the motors are only part of the equation. A large part of R & D was in a modified truck chassis. With 13.4 inches of usable travel rear suspension and 11.2 in the front, the Raptor promises to be an off-road capability.

The final component of the Raptor is connected to the bottom in the form of BF Goodrich All Terrain TA / KO 315/70-17 tires. Mounted on 17 inch wheels (with a new design for the model last year, also moved the wheel weights inside the wheels), these are 35 inch tires designed to run on and off road.

While there is no other truck, which the penalties of driving through the desert at speeds of three digits such as Raptor may be able to resist, are less hard-core off-road pickups, the Ram 2500 truck and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500

2012 Ford F-150 Review

Ford F-150
2012 Ford F-150. The American manufacturer, Ford has released this year some interesting models to formalize the new generation of cars. But still have not reached everyone. One model that has raised most interest and will be available in the markets from July is the new Ford F-150 pickup. This vehicle has always stood by their characteristics typical of American trucks, capable of offering commercial transportation services but also includes features enough to enjoy an authentic SUV. The drawback is that this vehicle has to be imported and the cost is increased.

The aesthetics of this terrain is spectacular, and throughout its history has always been a range of lines that have marked other manufacturer's models. With the launch of the new pickup, Ford is committed to meet all the requirements that U.S. citizens need when having a good tool for work and leisure, and consolidated sales leader as in past versions, the United States. The design and technology that gets the F-150 are completely new, including, we emphasize the MyFord system with voice activated controls and intensity HID headlamps.

Outside the vehicle, find new traits to achieve a harmony between modernity and the ultimate aggressive. The front grille has been enhanced to further radicalize his presence, and new grids have been built into the sides of the vehicle. Thus, the new F-150 acquires a unique personality. Follows completely different lines to those found in the new Ford Escape SUV called.

Engines and performance
as we have said, this model will be available from June, and some of its more technical details have been unveiled today. Among other things, we know with certainty that in its initial production, it will market the new Ford F-150 with four engines to choose from.

These are:
• 3.7l V6 Ti-VCT 302CV
• 3.5l Ecoboost V6 Ti-VCT 365CV
• 5.0l V8 360HP Ti-VCT
• 6.2l V8 411CV Ti-VCT

With this, we have to choose between four engines, all with large powers, which few models in the segment have them, especially if 411CV V8 engine. But the versions to choose will be much broader, because we can choose the type of cab (single cab, double cab or extra cab), the type of drive (4 × 4 or 4 × 2), in addition to the multitude of packages and extensions that the manufacturer usually provides us with all models, making it one of the most customizable vehicles according to the tastes and preferences of users.

With the new Ford F-150, the U.S. manufacturer competes among the largest in the sector, as the Japanese Toyota Hilux which has been renovated this year, and I already talked to him on more than one occasion.

New Ssangyong Actyon Sports to order

Ssangyong Actyon Sports
In South Korea, the new pick-up of Ssangyong Korando Sports then called; in the is that simply re Actyon Sports, eponymous to its predecessor. Orders can be placed from now

Because Ssangyong's new pickup design traits rather derives from the Korando and subcutaneous considerably more modern technology has been assumed that the model name Korando Sports would get. In the domestic market and some other countries there is indeed chosen, but in the Netherlands, we again appeal to the novice just Actyon Sports.

Independent
With this official message from Ssangyong is also an immediate end to the uncertainty whether the new South Korean pickup or in our country would be marketed. In a technical sense, the Ssangyong at least an asset on the list Amarok Volkswagen, Nissan Navara and Ford Ranger. Unlike its competitors, namely the Actyon Sports is equipped with an independent suspension instead of an old ladder chassis. Apart from the practical advantages that modern technology provides, by definition, ensures better handling.

2WD or 4x4
Ssangyong Actyon Sports offers with bucket of 2.04 square meters with only double cab and a 2.0 liter diesel in the nose. The turbo engine delivers 155 hp and 360 Nm, consumes 7.6 l/100 km and sends in the case of favorable execution (€ 29.185, -) his forces just to the rear wheels. Toyota Hilux 2012

The 2012 Toyota Hilux will have some other features like sleek interior and exterior designs, anti-brake locking system, air bags and back sit music system.  With six gears speeds the 2012 Toyota Hilux will give you the right kind of power driving experience.

The 2012 Hilux models have the new ladder frame that is 45 percent stiffer than previous models. The 2012 Hilux double cab is accessible with 3 grades of the specification however all the models have the air conditioning, remote control locking and electric windows. The ABS braking, driver & front passenger air bags are as well standard fit.

The updated 2012 Toyota HiLux is yet another reason to consider the most popular ute in Australia over its growing list of competitors. As of today over 14 million Toyota HiLux vehicles have been sold worldwide, of which a staggering 700,000 have come to Australia (1/20). To give it a more competitive advantage, the updated seventh-generation Toyota HiLux has got its share of new features. The real story however is the added value and price reductions to the new model range, with all 21 Toyota HiLux 4×4 variants gaining between $1960 and $8340 better value. To launch the new 2012 Toyota HiLux, the Big T brought the motoring media to Townsville, the spiritual home of the almighty HiLux. To begin our Toyota HiLux review, we set out to test drive the updated HiLux around a challenging four-wheel drive course about 30 minutes out of Townsville. Although the majority of Toyota HiLux 4x4s sold to private buyers will never see dirt, the ability to perform off-road is crucial in the upkeep of HiLux’s tough and robust reputation.

You can read our Toyota HiLux off-road review for more info.Compared with the Volkswagen Amarok, the Toyota HiLux is definitely more agricultural. While the Europeans have focused heavily on technology and features, Toyota has kept the proven formula of the bulletproof HiLux pretty much untouched.

Meanwhile, the 3.0-litre diesel powering the HiLux is only marginally better with 126kW (3600rpm) and 343Nm of torque (1400-3400rpm). So while the Amarok and the soon-to-be-released new Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50 are no doubt more technologically advanced, the HiLux remains a proven unit.

HiLux SR 4×2 models gain cruise control for manual transmissions and have their seat, steering wheel and door trim upgraded. Go for the range-topping Toyota HiLux SR5 4×2 and automatic air-conditioning, dusk-sensing headlights and a 6.1-inch touchscreen satellite navigation system are all new features. Double Cab V6 petrol 4×4 models also gain vehicle stability control (ESC), traction control, electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.

There are now 35 different HiLux variants (up from 32), so the updated range caters to almost every need. New variants, lower prices and added value is the strategy for Toyota going forward. On normal roads the HiLux behaves well, is easy to manoeuvre and power delivery is smooth and consistent in the two variants we tested (4.0-litre petrol and 3.0-litre diesel). Safety remains a point of concern for the Toyota HiLux 4×2 range, with no standard side or curtain-shield airbags on offer.

Fulfilling a ‘workhorse’/’dual usage’ role, the brand new DLX+ grade is available with 2WD or 4WD 2.5 D-4D powertrains mated to a manual transmission in Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab body styles, and with a 4WD 3.0 D-4D powertrain and manual transmission as a Double Cab only.
Through the introduction of variable nozzle turbocharging, 2012 Toyota Hilux 2WD 2.5 D-4D models benefit from a 24 hp increase in power.

2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will almost certainly be a virtual carry-over of the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Same goes for the 2012 GMC Sierra 1500,  Chevy Silverado’s near twin. General Motors is devoting much of its big-truck energy to launching the redesigned heavy-duty 2011 Silverado/Sierra 2500- and 3500-series models. Should you wait for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado or buy a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado? The 2012 Silverado won’t change much, so buy a 2011 Silverado of you need a new full-size Chevy pickup in the near term. Attractive closeout deals on 2012 models will become available as Chevy clears inventory ahead of the all-new 2013 Silverado 1500.

Styling: The 2012 Silverado’s styling will stand pat, relying for one final year. If it continues to offer a gas-electric Silverado, the Hybrid would again lend its aerodynamic front fascia to the  Chevy Silverado 1500 XFE (Xtra Fuel Economy) model; both would probably continue only as crew cabs. That means the 2012 Silverado WT, LS, and LT models would get a basic design Chevy calls “pure pickup.” The 2012 Silverado’s V-6 would continue at 195 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.

Chevy trucks in the past, including the current Chevy Silverado, tended to go the traditional route. The 2009 Chevy Silverado, with its stacked square headlights and wide, flat grille, looks like the Chevy pickups of the '90s, the '80s, and the '70s (maybe even the '60s, too). Will the interesting fender flares from the 2007-2009 Chevy Silverado stay? Ancillary models like the Chevy Avalanche, and compact trucks like the Chevy Colorado, are the appropriate place for design bravado. These trucks are less grounded in (or stuck in?) tradition and can showcase the design talents in Detroit. The Chevy Silverado probably will not feature a sloping grille, or car-like headlight clusters, or anything too radical. If you change the truck too much, you'll anger the loyalists; if you don't change enough, you'll lose the guys who want the best truck, or the younger guys who haven't found their brand yet. I just hope Chevy gets it right.

New front-end designs, available heated/cooled seats (LTZ models) and a special White Diamond Edition enhance appearance and comfort, and a new navigation radio delivers on connectivity. Silverado also offers segment-exclusive OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio, as well as Bluetooth and USB connectivity – and a dealer-installed Wi-Fi system.

With the exception of Hybrid models, all Silverado 1500s now feature Trailer Sway Control and Hill Start Assist as part of the StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, enhancing performance under a variety of driving and trailering conditions

LS and LT models now feature a silver-painted lower bumper fascia that is more aerodynamic on 2WD models without tow hooks, and a new 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheel.
Two new interior color combinations are available: Dark Titanium/Light Titanium and Dark Cashmere/Light Cashmere.

Cruise control and a spare tire lock are now standard on all Silverado 1500 models.
Content includes a unique White Diamond Tricoat exterior color, chrome mirror caps and door handles, and body side moldings with chrome accents on LT models. The LTZ version adds the Z60 high-performance suspension package, 20-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels, touring tires and a chrome tow hook and exhaust tip package.

Customers seeking a more rugged-looking Silverado can choose the Z71 Off-Road Appearance Package. Silverado offers a number of technical features that enhance its capability for both work and recreation, including new navigation radio. For work sites, Chevy WiFi offers instant access to online ordering sites, municipal sites with building permits and building code information and more. Silverado also offers comprehensive confidence and control features.

A five-speed automatic is standard. In performance testing, a 4WD Dakota Laramie crew cab with the V8 accelerated from zero to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. When properly equipped, a V8 Dakota can tow 7,200 pounds.

Safety
Rear-wheel antilock brakes are standard, while an optional Safety Group provides four-wheel ABS and full-length side curtain airbags. In side-impact tests, the Dakota crew cab without side curtain airbags earned five stars for the protection of both front and rear passengers.

Interior Design and Special Features
In general, pickup trucks aren't expected to have high-quality interiors, but even by this low benchmark, the 2010 Dodge Dakota disappoints. On the upside, the Dakota's interior design is mostly straightforward. The standard bench seats are very comfortable, while the available power seats offer a wealth of adjustability.

The 2010 Dodge Dakota aims for a tough styling take on basic work trucks, and it succeeds-but it's a little institutional.
As a mid-size truck, the Dakota comes in two body lengths: extended and crew cab. Cars.com calls it "the perfect size for many truck consumers; it's not too small or too big."
Cars.com notes that recent restyling leaves behind "hints of the Dodge Rampage concept truck," which gives the Dodge Dakota an "edgier" appearance than previous models.

2010 Ford Ranger

Ford Ranger
2010 Ford Ranger Review

The Ford Ranger has built a solid reputation as a rugged workhorse of a compact pickup. Two engines are available, a 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 4.0-liter V6. The 2.3-liter dohc four-cylinder makes 143 horsepower and 154 pound-feet of torque. Most versions have a 6-foot cargo bed, but a 7-foot bed is available on the Regular Cab with two-wheel drive.

Reviewers typically describe the Ford Ranger with words like "dated," "subpar" and "ancient." Where the 2010 Ranger does excel is fuel economy. Four-wheel drive models with the 4.0 liter engine drop even further: 15 mpg city/19 mpg highway and 17 combined with manual transmission, and 14 mpg city/18 mpg highway and 15 combined with an automatic.

In crash testing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gives the 2010 Ford Ranger Regular Cab its highest rating (5 out of 5 stars) for frontal and side-impact tests, 4 stars for rear-wheel drive models and 3 stars for four-wheel drive models in rollover testing.

the Ford Ranger gains standard stability control and side airbags for 2010, the first time these features have been offered. Shortly thereafter, the Ford Ranger was introduced." For the 2010 Ford Ranger, there are minor updates once again, but with mixed results. So unless you're the owner of a small business, there's little reason to consider the 2010 Ford Ranger.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2010 Ford Ranger is a compact pickup truck available in regular-cab and extended-cab (SuperCab) body styles. Both are available in XL, XLT and Sport trim levels. A 6-foot bed is standard on all cab styles and trims, but a 7-foot bed is optional for fleet buyers on the XL regular cab model.

Ranger Sports receive upgraded wheels, a full-size spare tire, heavy-duty gas shocks (SuperCab), skid plates, sidestep bars, bucket seats and a center console.
The 2010 Ford Ranger comes standard with a 2.3-liter inline-4 that produces 143 hp and 154 pound-feet of torque. This engine is only available with rear-wheel drive. Rear-wheel drive and a five-speed manual are standard, with four-wheel drive and a five-speed automatic optional separately.

Safety
The 2010 Ford Ranger comes standard with four-wheel antilock brakes (front disc, rear drum), front side airbags and stability control. Side curtain airbags are not available.
SuperCabs can be equipped with an extra pair of access doors and small, inward-facing rear jump seats.

Driving Impressions
When equipped with the 4.0-liter V6, the 2010 Ford Ranger offers decent acceleration, but competitors are more potent.

2010 Chevrolet Avalanche

Chevrolet Avalanche
the 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche is refined and capable, while delivering a smooth ride and gobs of towing power (up to 8,100 pounds). For a detailed review of this vehicle, consult our page on the 2009 Chevrolet Avalanche.

The 2010 Avalanche loses its available 6-liter V8 engine, dropping it down to a single powertrain -- a 310-horsepower, 5.3-liter flex-fuel V8 that also gains Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation.

The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche gets a couple of changes. The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche reflects GM's effort to combine a pickup with an SUV. The Avalanche takes after its pickup parent with its four-door crew-cab configuration. However, unlike a truck, its cab and bed aren't separate; instead, the Avalanche features an SUV's one-piece body.

Certainly, the full-sized Avalanche is no slouch in the size department.
Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche is a full-size crew-cab pickup with a removable rear window and exclusive midgate. The basic LS features a composite cargo bed, a removable three-piece cargo cover, full power accessories, air-conditioning, a front 40/20/40-split bench seat with center storage, a power driver seat, basic OnStar capability and a single-CD stereo with an auxiliary jack, USB port and satellite radio.

The top-drawer LTZ offers standard 20-inch wheels, a navigation system, an adaptive suspension, heated and ventilated leather seats, a rearview camera, integrated turn-signal mirrors and an automatic-dimming rearview mirror. Many of these upper-trim-level features are available as options on the lower trims.

The 2010 Chevrolet Avalanche is available with either two-wheel drive (2WD) or four-wheel drive (4WD). The standard setup for 4WD models this year is a single-speed transfer case; a more traditional two-speed transfer case (with low-range gearing) is optional.

A properly equipped 2WD Avalanche can tow up to 8,100 pounds. Standard Avalanche safety equipment includes antilock disc brakes, stability control, GM's OnStar emergency communications system and a full-length side curtain airbag system with a rollover sensor. With bucket seats, the Avalanche seats five, but it can carry up to six passengers when equipped with the split-bench front seat.

With the midgate up, the Avalanche's cargo bed is 5-feet-3-inches long; drop the midgate and slide the rear seats forward and the bed grows to over 8 feet.

It's GM's Transformer truck-since 2002 the Chevrolet Avalanche has taken the full-size pickup for an interesting ride by offering a flexible cabin and bed that trade places when needed. "The previous Avalanche's body cladding is gone, replaced with integrated rocker panels and bumpers," Cars.com says. Trim and with a bit of the off-roading look built into the sail panels behind the cabin windows, the Avalanche has a nicely brief truck bed, pronounced fenders, and a big twin-grille front end that shares genes with the noses on the new Chevrolet Malibu and Traverse. Cars.com contends the Chevrolet Avalanche 2010 "closely resembles the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe up front, though with an overall length of 221 inches it's nearly as long as Chevrolet's full-size Suburban SUV."

ForbesAutos simply reports that the 2010 Chevy Avalanche's "nice two-tone interior is crafted from high-quality materials," while Car and Driver pays a halfhearted compliment to the "decent interior."

2011 Honda Ridgeline Reviews

2011 honda ridgeline
The 2011 Honda Ridgeline. The Sport Utility Truck is a dying breed, and the Honda Ridgeline maybe going down with the class. In a class of only three trucks (the Cadillac Escalade EXT and the Chevrolet Avalanche are the other two), the Ridgeline has the lowest towing capacity, the cheapest interior and the least-powerful engine, according to reviewers. While there are other trucks and SUVs that outperform the Honda Ridgeline in almost every way, reviewers say that the Ridgeline provides the best compromise between a truck, sport-utility vehicle and city cruiser.

The Chevrolet Avalanche provides 3,100 pounds more towing capacity, but starts out about $7,000 more than the Ridgeline.

Details: Honda Ridgeline
The Ridgeline continues into 2011 unchanged from the previous model year. The base RT model starts at $28,900 and is fairly well-equipped, with an AM/FM/CD player with MP3/WMA disc playback capability, a power-sliding rear window, and six cup holders. The $34,480 RTL comes standard with heated front seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, and a power moonroof.
.
The Ridgeline's V6 puts down 250 horsepower and a modest 247 pound-feet of torque. While the 2011 Honda Ridgeline is all the truck many pickup buyers will ever need, it's not for everybody.

Body Styles, Trim Levels, and Options
The 2011 Honda Ridgeline midsize pickup truck is offered in a single four-door crew-cab body style with seating for five. The entry-level RT is reasonably well equipped with standard features that include 17-inch steel wheels, a power-sliding rear window, air-conditioning, a 60/40-split-folding rear seat with under-seat storage, full power accessories, cruise control, a trip computer and a six-speaker CD/MP3 stereo with an auxiliary audio jack.

The RTS adds 17-inch alloy wheels, rear privacy glass, dual-zone automatic climate control, an eight-way power driver seat and an upgraded seven-speaker audio system with a six-CD changer and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls. Power flows through a five-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel-drive system. EPA estimated fuel economy is 15 mpg city/20 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined, which is mediocre considering the truck's modest power.

Safety
Every Ridgeline comes standard with antilock brakes (with brake assist), stability control, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags with rollover sensor and front seat active head restraints.
The 2011 Honda Ridgeline has not been rated using the government's new, more strenuous 2011 crash-testing procedures. In Edmunds 60-0-mph brake testing, the Ridgeline required 141 feet to stop, a disappointing figure for its class.

Controls and surfaces inside the 2011 Honda Ridgeline run big -- as in Tonka big. There's something charming in the Ridgeline's rugged, work-ready eagerness to please.

Driving Impressions
By pickup standards, the 2011 Honda Ridgeline is pleasant to drive.
The Honda Ridgeline last received a few changes in 2009. The 2011 Honda Ridgeline will see a redesign for 2011. Expect the vehicle to be released in late 2010.
The grille design is different, but the vehicle remains a four-door crew cab truck.
Interior Features
Two-zone automatic climate control, powered seats, fog lights, leather upholstery, satellite radio, and Bluetooth should be available on upgraded trims.
Performance
The performance of the 2011 Honda Ridgeline could change dramatically as a result of its redesign.

2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor
The 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor comes with MPG-tuned transmission and the wide body of the truck makes parking the truck a tad difficult.

The 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor carves its own category of “Fast Off-roading capable” trucks and resides there comfortably, without any sort of competition till now. The Special Vehicle Team (SVT) of Ford has developed this truck using the same process that they used for developing the vehicles such as the Ford GT. The 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was developed at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan, plant, alongside the Ford F-150. The 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor comes loaded with plethora of modern and distinguished interior upgrades in comparison to the conventional Ford F-150s. The 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor comes in four colors: black, white, blue and Molten Orange.

So if you are looking for such truck then the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is a superb choice for you.

The SVT Raptor is a high-performance off-road version of Ford's venerable F-150 pickup truck -- and for the latest model year the truck received two major changes.
One totally new addition to the Raptor for the latest model year is the Supercrew cab configuration. Raptor grows, sprouts two more doors
It was inevitable, Ford was destined to bring a SuperCrew variant of its SVT Raptor at some point, and that time is now. 6.2 > 5.4
Now that Ford’s 6.2-liter V8 is ready for the big time, Ford decided to drop the dated 5.4-liter engine altogether, making the 6.2-liter V8 standard for both the Supercab and SuperCrew models. This newly standard engine makes the F-150 SVT Raptor the most powerful half-ton pickup on the market.

Ford says that the exhaust for the 6.2-liter engine was uniquely tuned to deliver the performance-oriented, high-horsepower sound customers want. Ford says it performed extensive testing on the new powerplant, including subjecting fifty prototype engines to more than a dozen of the toughest engine tests at Ford's dynamometer lab.

Interior changes for the latest model year
Aside from the obvious addition of the larger interior-minded SuperCrew model, Ford also made some minor changes to the Supercab model as well.

New options, packages
In the event that the standard fare Supercab or SuperCrew Raptor just isn’t enough for the most discerning buyers, Ford now offers two new packages, Raptor Plus Package and Raptor Luxury Package.

The design features matte black accent graphics – including the F-150 SVT Raptor logo – run along the hood, which Ford points out also happens to reduce glare. The suspension's dampers were designed by Fox Racing Shox, giving the Raptor the only internal bypass shocks on a street truck. High-tech features include: Trailer Sway Control, an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, an Electronic Locking Differential, Hill Descent Control, an Off-Road Mode, and an Auxiliary Switch Board to facilitate aftermarket add-ons.

The SVT Raptor is built alongside the new F-150 at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant at the Rouge Center.
By adding a new SuperCrew option and making the 411-bhp 6.2-liter V-8 standard equipment, the 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor offers better performance and more flexibility with the ability to carry up to 5 passengers and tow 8000 pounds. BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires, the Raptor has an amazing 11.2-in. front and 12.1-in. rear suspension travel, giving the vehicle impressive off-road capabilities.

2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

Ford Raptor
The automaker drew from its trophy truck experience to make a vehicle that can go off-road racing out of the box.

The difference between the Raptor and the race-prepared trucks it’s based on is that the Raptor is street legal. The Raptor chassis is significantly wider than the stock F-150 to accommodate large wheels and a wider suspension. Options on the test car, including the Raptor package, custom paint, luxury interior, rear back-up camera, Sony navigation radio and a trailer brake controller bring the price as tested to $49,395.

A blacked-out grille and black exterior graphics make the truck visible for miles. I wouldn’t want to try parallel parking the truck on the street. The chassis’ extra wide suspension results in a larger-than-normal turning radius: 44.6 feet.

Considering its high ride height, visibility to the front and sides of the car is remarkably good. Four-wheel disc brakes with four-channel antilock braking stop the truck in a firm, linear fashion.

The Raptor’s live rear axle makes for a bumpier ride, both on and off-road, than a fully-independent suspension. Off-road trails are the Raptor’s ace-in-the-hole. The Raptor’s extreme suspension travel and large wheels take some getting used to. The luxury package on the test car includes power driver and front passenger seats and power adjustable pedals. Seat heaters make the truck more comfortable in temperature extremes.

Redundant steering wheel controls minimize driver distraction. As with most pickup trucks, most of the Raptor’s cargo space is in its open cargo bed. Standard safety
All models come with front, side and side curtain airbags. Other standard safety features include antilock brakes, stability and traction control.
Off road, the whole package comes together and presents a massive footprint (the Ford F150 SVT Raptor is eight inches wider than a regular F150).
This machine, which comes standard with a tow package (factory installed trailer brake controller, tow hitch and trailer sway control), can tow 6,000 pounds of toys just about anywhere – while being able to keep up with said toys in the dirt. SERIOUSLY!

Pricing, Trims and Options
Ford’s F150 SVT Raptor is currently offered only as a SuperCab. Base model Ford F150 SVT Raptors start around $38,000.
Fully optioned, the Raptor will run around $47,000. Some noteworthy options include the $1,075 Graphics Package, $2,430 Sony (stereo/navigation) Package, $495 Molten Orange paint option and $1,950 Luxury Package (heated/power driver and passenger seats, heated mirrors and adjustable pedals).

Interior Features
The interior is a mixed bag of regular F150 components and specialty items specific to the SVT Raptor. Seats are unique and comfortable up front. Ford added massive side steps, which work well for shorter folks but aren’t so great for taller.

The 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor currently resides in a class of one, capable of off-road speeds that would demolish most production four-wheelers. Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) has created a new segment by applying the same methodical focus to an off-road performance truck as it did to legendary pavement-bound projects such as the Ford GT. The result is a 7-inch-wider wheel track that creates an F-150 8 inches wider than its stablemates. The wider track allows for larger tires (35-inch LT315/70R17) and more suspension travel, the stroke of which is handled by a set of Fox Racing Shox specifically designed for the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor.

Performance
Off-road the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor is in a league of its own, swallowing knee-high whoops at extralegal speeds, all while refusing to bottom the suspension. The off-road suspension pays other on-road benefits, as the worst pavement you could dream up is easily swallowed by the Raptor. Inside, the Raptor retains the standard F-150 SuperCab seating for five and roomy front cabin. Wind and especially road noise remain remarkably low considering the off-road tires. Several dash-mounted switches are unique to the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, including the knob for the rear electronic locking differential (ELD). The Raptor's ELD works in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive modes (Hi and Lo), and can stay locked up to the Raptor's governed 100-mph top speed.
To take advantage of the Raptor's 6,000-pound tow rating, Trailer Sway Control and a tranny tow-haul mode are standard. The Raptor is available in four colors: black, Molten Orange, white and blue. No vehicle that has ever rolled out of dealerships with a factory warranty can match the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor's abilities to eat up dirt at speed.

2011 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab

2011 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab .A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard. The Double Cab Long Bed V6 Automatic is outfitted with a standard 4.0-liter, V6, 236-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 20-mpg on the highway. In Rear Suspension leaf spring suspension with staggered outboard-mounted gas shock absorbers.

The Tacoma also includes an array of safety features, such as driver and front passenger front and seat-mounted side airbags, 3-point seatbelts, and side-impact door beams in all doors. Also onboard is Toyota's Star Safety system, which includes vehicle stability control, traction control, and electronic brake-force distribution.

My test vehicle was a 2011 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab, silver, with shiny 16-in. alloy wheels: elegant but understated. It’s a really handsome truck.
The 2011 Toyota Tacoma is officially denoted a “midsize” pickup, up from the compact status Toyota’s small pickup enjoyed a couple of generations ago, but it’s still a nice size. (Yes, I know the Tacoma’s assembled right here in Texas, but it’s a Japanese truck all the same. The Tacoma mimics a full-sized truck in everything but actual dimensions. Not so the Tacoma, which is trim, elegant, and well-proportioned. It comes in three configurations, one more than the average competitor offers: Regular Cab, Access Cab (an extended cab with small clamshell doors), and Double Cab (crew cab with four normal doors). The Regular and Access Cabs boast a 6-foot bed. A 6-foot bed is available as an option, but with a 140.6-inch-wheelbase it transforms the Tacoma into a genuinely big truck, unwieldy in parking lots.

Although you can buy a base Tacoma Regular Cab for $16K or so, most customers head for the Double Cab like mine, which came with four-wheel-drive and a slightly astonishing sticker price of $31,000. In the Tacoma it puts out 236 horses.

Just turn the knob on the dashboard to engage the part-time four-wheel-drive system, and hit the trail. It’s still a truck. Inside, the Tacoma’s a comfy place to while away the miles. The front buckets are a bit low, but they’re plush to sit in, and anyway, with the truck’s ride height, the lower level of the seats hardly matters. Along with the TRD package already noted, my truck was stuffed with safety wizardry: hill-start assistance control (HAC), downhill assistance control (DAC), stability and traction control, four-wheel ABS (rear drums, though: why, at this price point?), a full array of airbags including seat-mounted side and side-curtain ones, and a tire-pressure monitoring system. I’ve long wanted another truck; the last one I owned was a ’97 Nissan Hardbody of unsainted memory.

2006 Subaru Baja Turbo

2006 Subaru Baja Turbo
With a turbocharged 2.5-liter, flat-4 engine, the 2006 Subaru Baja Turbo gets 210-hp to the Sport's 165.  It is outfitted similarly to the Sport, with power mirrors, windows, and locks, a sunroof, cruise control, fog lights, air conditioning, ABS brakes, and dual front airbags.  For storage security and expansion, the Turbo also has a roof rack, cargo net, tie-downs, and bed liner are also all standard.

Unique to the 2006 Baja Turbo are options such as power front seats and leather upholstery.
The Subaru Baja is, generally speaking, a car-based crew-cab pickup truck. Based on the 2000-2004 Subaru Outback, it shares the same 104.3-inch wheelbase, but is 6 inches longer in rear overhang. The Baja has seating accommodations for four full-size adults, with rear-seat legroom noticeably tighter than in the Outback. The front of the bed along with the rear seat back fold forward into the rear seating area, expanding the usable length of the bed from 41.5 to 60 inches. The 2006 Subaru Baja has limited appeal, but for those who need about half the open-bed cargo utility of a truck as well as a vehicle that rides like a car, the Baja is a reasonable choice.

The Subaru Baja is a four-door utility vehicle available in two trims -- Baja Sport and Baja Turbo. The Baja Sport is equipped with a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 165 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. The Baja Turbo boasts a turbocharged version that produces 210 hp and 235 lb-ft of twist.
Automatic-equipped Baja Turbo models also get an automanual gate that allows for manual shifting when the driver desires. All Subaru vehicles sold in the United States come with standard all-wheel drive, and the Baja is no exception. The Subaru Baja comes standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes and pre-tensioners and load limiters for the front seatbelts. Neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS has crash tested the Baja.

The Baja's cargo box is smaller than the beds of traditional compact pickups, but this car-based pickup does offer a handsome interior that scores high marks for style, comfort and ergonomics. An optional tailgate extender is available that increases cargo bed length to 75 inches.

The 2006 Subaru Baja has a fully independent suspension and rides much more like a car than a truck.
The Subaru Baja is a civilized and practical vehicle with seating for four people as well as a modest pickup bed. A five-speed manual or four-speed automatic are the transmission options. For 2006, the Subaru Baja gets a security system and keyless entry
