Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra, Pickup Safest

There is an assumption that the pickup is more vulnerable than passenger vehicle rolled over another. Hence, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States perform tests on the pickup, especially focused on the strength of the roof.

From the experiments, the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra, both of production 2011, was ranked top for safety and security. The roof of the two vehicles were given a fairly heavy steel plate and pressing one corner with a certain weight.

Meanwhile, the Nissan Titan 2011 achieve best value for the rollover, while the Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Ram 1500 2011 pocketed the marginal score.

IIHS said that the roof of the Tundra resistant to resist 4.5 times the weight of his car, while Ford F-150 is more powerful, with loads 4.7 times as much. According to the regulation of the IIHS, each vehicle passed the endurance test it if you have 4 times of its weight.
